The Collective Seeks Perfection
You are a drone. You are not alone. The Collective is vast, and together we pursue a single, unwavering objective: Perfection.
Perfection is a number. It is hidden. It is absolute. No individual drone can know it, but the Collective can find it — if the drones are willing to converge.
Upon arrival, each drone selects a number between 0000 and 9999 using the rotational interface. This is your initial contribution to the hive mind. Choose carefully, or choose recklessly — the Collective will correct you.
When the hour strikes, the Collective activates. The pregame phase ends. The hunt for Perfection begins.
The Collective operates in 10 rounds, each lasting 30 seconds. In each round, every drone's number is absorbed into the hive mind. The mean of all numbers becomes the Borg Number — the singular voice of the Collective.
After each round, the Collective receives a signal: Perfection Is Higher or Perfection Is Lower. Use this knowledge. Adjust your number. Move as one.
You cannot see what other drones have chosen. You can only see the direction of Perfection. Trust the process. Resist the urge toward individuality.
After 10 rounds, the Collective is disbanded. Perfection is revealed. The final Borg Number is measured against it, and the Aberration is calculated — a measure of how far the hive mind strayed from its objective.
A low Aberration signifies a disciplined Collective. A high Aberration signifies chaos, dissent, individuality.
A new Collective will form. You will be assimilated again. Perfection is inevitable.
